YMCA to require swimming test for Tourtellotte pool
(Mankato, MN) – The Mankato Family YMCA is adding measures to ensure that children are safe in the pool this summer.
Tourtellotte pool opens on Thursday, June 6th, and this year swimmers under the age of 18 will be tested to determine their swimming abilities. The results of the test will determine which parts of the pool swimmers will be allowed to use, according to a release from Executive Director John Kind.
Swimmers will be tested on their first visit to the pool, and should expect a delay in entering the pool until they get tested. Testing will be done only once, and swimmers will receive a wrist band indicating where they can swim.
