Woman sentenced to more than 21 years for baby’s death
MINNEAPOLIS (AP) — A woman has been sentenced to more than 21 years in prison for killing her friend’s baby in Hennepin County.
Thirty-eight-year-old Jennifer Baldwin, of Brooklyn Center, was earlier found guilty of unintentional second-degree murder in the death of nine-month-old Colton Senogles last year. First responders found the baby was having trouble breathing after Baldwin, who was babysitting the child, called 911.
A complaint says Baldwin initially said she had no idea what happened to the boy, but when confronted with autopsy results that showed head trauma, admitted she handled the baby aggressively.
Hennepin County District Court Judge Jamie Anderson sentenced Baldwin to 21 years and 3 months in prison Monday afternoon.
