(New Ulm, MN) – The New Ulm Eagles boys basketball team bested St. James Thursday night, but wouldn’t have made it to overtime without an impressive shot to tie the game.
Junior Reece Melby hit the basket at the buzzer from three quarters down the court to tie the game 54-54 at the end of regulation play, and the Eagles went on to beat St. James 61-58 in overtime.
Melby is a junior forward for the Eagles, who currently have four wins on the season.
The New Ulm Journal has more details on the game.
