Victim hospitalized following Mankato apartment fire
(Mankato, MN) – A tenant was hospitalized following an apartment fire in Mankato over the weekend.
Mankato Public Safety said in a release that crews responded to fire in an apartment bathroom at 728 North Second Street at 5:30 p.m. Sunday evening. The fire was extinguished, but there was significant smoke damage throughout the residence. Two of the four apartments suffered heavy fire damage.
A tenant was transported to a local health facility for treatment of smoke inhalation and later released.
There was an estimated $200,000 in damages. The Minnesota Fire Marshal is investigating the cause of the fire.
