A red flag warning has been issued for Brown, Watonwan, Martin, and 10 other southwestern Minnesota counties effective Monday from 11 a.m. through 8 p.m. 

The National Weather Service issues Red Flag Warnings when conditions are prime for wildfires.  Residents in counties with Red Flag warnings should not burn.  Conditions Monday are expected to be sunny with strong afternoon winds. Relief from the dry weather is in sight, with chances of rain in the forecast Monday night, and probable rain Tuesday and Wednesday.

Cottonwood, Jackson, Lincoln, Lyon, Murray, Nobles, Pipestone, Redwood, Rock, and Yellow Medicine counties are also under a red flag warning.
