Psychologist rules teen incompetent to stand trial for molestation at Renville County daycare
(Olivia, MN) – A preliminary report by a psychologist finds an Olivia youth is not competent to stand trial on charges accusing him of molesting three girls at his mother’s Olivia daycare center.
The boy was arrested in April and charged with three counts of Criminal Sexual Conduct for alleged incidents with three different girls at his mother’s daycare from August of 2017 through this past January. His mother, 45-year-old Peggy Uhlenkamp, is also charged with failing to report the abuse and child neglect. Her daycare license has been suspended.
Today (Wednesday), attorneys for the prosecution and those representing the 16-year-old boy are expected to hold a conference call to set up a court hearing in which the psychologist can answer questions on why she made the determination. A final ruling on the competency of the teen, who reportedly has developmental disabilities, has not yet been made by a judge.
