North Mankato man accused of rape
(Mankato, MN) – A North Mankato man is facing allegations that he raped a woman known to him.
Mahad Ahmed Mohamud, 26, was charged Monday in Blue Earth County Court with four felony counts of criminal sexual conduct.
According to the criminal complaint, a woman told police Mohamoud cornered her in the bathroom of a Mankato apartment, where he forcibly “snatched off” her clothing.” The victim said she tried to resist, but Mohamoud punched her in the face.
The apartment owner told police the woman woke him up to tell him she’d been raped. He noticed the woman was naked from the waist down and found Mohamud pulling up his pants in the bathroom.
Police found Mohamoud in a nearby apartment. He admitted that he’d had sex with the victim, but said it wasn’t that day. Mohamoud told police the woman had been taking a shower and he was going to join her when she suddenly ran out of the bathroom.
Police say the victim did not appear wet from a shower when she made her report.
Mohamoud has been summoned to appear in court on December 19th.
