Madelia man charged for alleged rape following bonfire
(St. James, MN) – A Madelia man is accused of raping a woman after a party.
Claudio Sebastian Ayala Jr., 18, faces two felony counts of felony third-degree criminal sexual conduct in Watonwan County Court.
According to the criminal complaint, Ayala and the victim were with two others at a bonfire. The group went to the Madelia home of one of the attendees afterward, where the victim fell asleep. The victim later awoke to Ayala sexually assaulting her, according to the complaint, but he stopped when someone came into the room.
Court documents say that when the witness left the room a second time, Ayala raped the woman. She told police she tried to get away, but he held her down. Ayala allegedly stopped when the witness returned.
Ayala denied the allegations.
