Homeless man arrested on warrants charged in apartment burglaries
(Mankato, MN) – A homeless man arrested on warrants for various crimes was also charged in connection with two recent burglaries in Mankato.
According to the criminal complaint, when 22-year-old Mattu Khor Chuol was arrested in Nicollet County he was found in possession of Australian cash, a purse, and a wallet that matched items reported missing from a Monks Avenue apartment burglary.
Chuol also had a small box containing jewelry when he was arrested, according to the complaint.
The victim of a second burglary reported on East Campusview Street told police that someone had climbed in the window of his children’s bedroom while they were sleeping. One of the items taken from a safe at the apartment was a jewelry box, according to the complaint. The victim identified the box that was found in Chuol’s possession as the box stolen from his apartment.
