(Minneapolis, MN) – Cub Foods is asking customers to not openly carry firearms in their stores, citing feedback and concerns from customers.

The announcement was made via the grocery retailer’s Twitter account on Saturday.

“While Minnesota is an open-carry state that allows individuals with lawful permits to carry firearms, we also respect the concerns and feedback shared by many of our customers following the recent tragic events throughout our country. Therefore, we’re respectfully asking our customers, other than authorized law enforcement officials, to no longer openly carry firearms into or stores.”

Cub also announced that the chain will no longer sell e-cigarettes or vaping devices in light of a growing public health crisis.
