(Garden City, MN) – Four days of food, fun, and entertainment start Thursday as the Blue Earth County Fair opens its gates.

Spring flooding at the fairgrounds couldn’t stop the fair, and organizers have lined up a long list of activities.

The gates will open at 8 a.m. Thursday, July 25th for Senior Day, which includes lunch and an awards ceremony.  Northern Frights will have activities throughout the day, and multiple bands and a DJ will offer music.

Kid’s Day is Friday, July 26th, with livestock shows, inflatable rides, and a petting zoo.  The Free Stage will host multiple shows and events geared towards children, including a juggler, hypnotist, and a comedian.  Two eating contests will feature two favorite kiddo foods: pizza and ice cream.

The fair will be in full swing Saturday, with a morning horse show, kid’s pedal pull, pie-eating contest, compact car racing, and a nighttime light show.

Closing out the free fair on Sunday will be the 4-H Family Fun Event “Bags and BBQ” and the demo derby in the grandstand.
