1 killed, another seriously injured in Highway 14 crash near Owatonna
(Rochester, MN) – One person is dead and another seriously wounded following a weekend crash in Steele County.
The Minnesota State Patrol says a 2008 Pontiac G6 that was eastbound on Highway 14 was hit head-on by a westbound semi trying to pass another vehicle. The crash happened just before 5 p.m. Saturday.
The passenger in the Pontiac, 67-year-old Allison Christine Anderson of Owatonna, was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the G6 was Todd Richard Anderson, 58, of Owatonna. He was transported to St. Mary’s Hospital in Rochester with life-threatening injuries.
Twenty-nine-year-old Hashim Lencha Siddiq of Blaine was driving the Freightliner semi that hit the Pontiac. Siddiq and his passenger, 28-year-old Abdisalam Hashi Hassan of Oakdale weren’t injured in the crash.
